An English News Story A Day

Imagine learning English without having to do an examination at the end of your studies! Welcome to An English News Story A Day! This course is different from other English language courses, because in this course you will learn English to communicate – not learn English to pass an exam! This is a new kind of English language course, using articles published in The Standard. You will be able to read interesting news stories and assess your understanding of what you have read. You can read the article and you can complete the self-assessment.

The material is arranged at three different levels:

Level 1: Elementary
Level 2: Intermediate
Level 3: Advanced

You can go through all three levels, starting with Level 1. Or, you can start at whatever level you choose. It's up to you! Also, An English News Story A Day is not only for students – adults who are interested in the news and who want to improve their English by reading and listening to the news can also make use of An English News Story A Day.

By reading these news articles and completing the exercises, you will be able to improve your English language knowledge and skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation. Plus, you will also be able to improve your pronunciation of English, as every news story is accompanied by a reading of the story. Again, you can listen to the reading as many times as you want – and best of all, you do not even have to leave your apartment to do the course, as it is entirely online.
